HI Lynn.. I was just checking out COTA's sight and I'm so happy to see that Cole seems to be doing well. We think about you often as we prepare for ski4e 2010. I hope that all else is well and I love the updated pictures of Cole. Feel free to drop us an email anytime at cdglaze@roadrunner.com. Take care, Debbie

Hi, It seems easier to write this way than to do a separate blog. I'm not high tech. Trick or Treat Street was wonderful! The weather wasn't great but it was still very fun. Cole was exhausted when he returned. I can't say how much I appreciate all UR has done for us. We just got back from seeing Cole's doctor in Ohio. They would say it was good news: no crisis. But I was hoping for something a little better. His spleen has gotten slightly larger again and his lab work shows this too. It isn't anything the doctor's are worried about but it does indicate that the illness is progressing --- very SLOWLY but progressing. He still is happy and very active and enjoyed swimming at the hotel pool! He will now go under water by himself and was very proud that he actually swam a few feet!

Hi Lynn,  My name is Ellen and I've been thinking about contacting you for a while.  My daughter started as a student at UR in Sept 08, just a few months after my youngest son received a liver transplant at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  We read about you in the UR magazine and I thought it would be great if we could connect.  In the years leading up to my son's transplant, we had a lot of great experiences -- meetings with wonderful docs and caregivers, supportive family and friends, etc -- but for us, nothing came close to actually talking with other families who had been through the liver transplant experience.    Please let me know if you're interested in talking further and we can figure out how to connect.   p.s. My son is doing GREAT.   His quality of life is superb.

I just had to write. I had a REALLY bad day today. It has nothing to do with Cole, who is doing great. When I got home after working late, I was going through the mail and there was a check from Ukrop's grocery store's Golden Gift program for Cole and there was a check from COTA reimbursing me for expenses. Neither was a lot of money, but it still really lifted my spirits. It also reminded me that we have a lot of people who care for us who made those checks possible. As always, Thanks!

We are working on getting this website updated but unfortunately life keeps getting in the way! Cole is doing great and I can't believe he is about to be four! He remains healthy, smart and very active. This past year has been very exciting for both of us as we have been able to do many more "normal" things since our trips to Ohio for Cole's check ups have been cut back to twice a year. Cole has ridden a horse, went to the beach, took on a water park, and took swimming lessons. Most recently, he had his first airplane flight (that he will remember) when we went to Ohio a few weeks ago. Other than his spleen being enlarged, things are going well with his biliary artresia and I try hard to focus on now and not worry about the future. Thanks for everybody's continued support and prayers. We love you!

Lynn, I just read the article about your son Cole in the Richmond Alumni Magazine. My thoughts and prayers will continue to go out for Cole and yourself.

Just got another great check up from his pediatrician, Warren Snead, here in Richmond. At three things are still going great! He is hanging on to the 25th percentile in height and weight. Although I would love to have a greater comfort zone and get off the Pediasure, it is so exciting to keep getting good news! He is such a great kid and has the biggest smile in the world. Thanks for the continued support! Love, Lynn

I just wanted to update everybody on how well Cole is doing. We were in Cincinnati a few weeks ago and he received a great check up. Labs looked good and developmentally he is a little ahead of where is should be! It's amazing that he is going to be three in a few weeks. Cole is getting more and more active. He loves running and jumping and being silly. Lately he has been making up songs and pretending to be a "rock star." However, he still wants to be a firefighter when he gets big. Please keep the prayers coming. Love, Lynn
